About
So kind of lost as to what to post? Here are a few guidelines as to what we’re looking for:
- Posts should be directly related to an online RPG or MMO. Note: It doesn’t have to have happened in-game.
- They can be short one liners or multiple paragraphs. Please keep submissions to a reasonable length. Anything more than about 600 words (about page) is too long and will be rejected.
- Make them interesting whether funny, absurd, or ironic. Entertainment value is a biggie.
- Be original! Copying others work whether from another site, forum, TV show, comic, or movie is a big no-no. Plagiarism is illegal and frowned upon in most countries.
- Try and explain game specific terminology. Most of us haven’t played every game.
For example: Most non-Warhammer players won’t understand RvR is PvP. However, most will understand the concept of “farming” and “questing” and require no explanation of those terms.
- The better your spelling, the better your grammar, the better your post is structured the more likely it is to get published. That means spell out “you”, “what”, “nevermind”, etc. unless the shorthand is important to the value of the story.
- Does it have to have really happened? Good question. Theoretically, yes. But can we prove it? No. If we find out after the fact that it was made up, will we remove it? Probably not. This is the interwebz. Funny and weird stuff happen. As long as its not obviously made up (e.g.: “Hi this didn’t really happen. I made it up”) it won’t be discredited. If its believable and funny, awesome.
- Follow The Rules.
So what are we about? Fun.
The thought came across my mind one day “What if there was a site for MMO gamers to share there silly stuff to other gamers?” So like a true college student geek, I worked through the night getting a domain, setting up a site, etc, etc, etc. And thus CorpseCamp.Us was born.
Sometimes funny things happen, some times frustratingly stupid things happen. Both in our guilds, official forums, and in-game. Many of us have this inkling to share it with the world but don’t know the appropriate place…here it is.
What games are supported?
Any MMO that doesn’t exceed a T rating. You can post stories about stuff that happens in M-rated MMO’s but we won’t include it if it contains M-rated material and we will remove all references to the game from your post if we choose to publish it.
