Creating a new character on a server, my mom decided to join me with a death knight. I created a priest. With my priest, now level 12, she offered to run me through Deadmines. Big mistake. She is a three pigtailed, pink haired, gnome female named: Bubble Gum.
Entering the Goblin portion of Deadmines she decided to aggro “a small part of the room”. Apparently in Gnomish “a small part” means the entire room. Granted, it was my fault that I fell into the mess of it. I attempted to see if I could boil myself in the big vat of molten whatever and instead found myself in the midst of gnomish-chaos.
“Use your diseases! Spread them! Death strike! Death strike!”
“I am!”
“There are no diseases on them!”
“Oh.”
“Pestilence! Spread diseases-”
“Heal!”
“I AM HEALING!”
*death*
The moral of this story? Never accept a run through from a character shorter than you. Especially if that midget happens to be named Bubble Gum.

This Real ID fiasco just keeps getting better and better. The ESRB replying to the 1000+ emails complaining about Blizzard’s Real ID informing them Blizzard had recanted unintentionally used the “reply all” feature. This effectively shared the 1000+ email addresses with all 1000+ people who had complained.
The deepest irony here is the last paragraph of the letter ( you can read it in its entirety at WoW.com):
ESRB, through its Privacy Online program, helps companies develop practices to safeguard users’ personal information online while still providing a safe and enjoyable video game experience for all. We appreciate your taking the time to contact us with your concerns, and please feel free to direct any future inquiries you may have regarding online privacy to our attention.
So…if you haven’t drawn the connections yet… 1000+ people complaining about Blizzard sharing their personal information had their email address shared to 1000+ strangers. Nice.
The ESRB of course was mortified one of their employees had done this and profusely apologized.

I have been playing Runescape since a year after its release. I remember getting ganked again and again as I made the very short (though extremely long at the time)journey from the starting town of Lumbrdige to the great city of Varock…at level twenty. I watched as level requirements were added to the equipment. I rejoiced when world pvp was removed and a special zone was put in its place, for in Runescape death means the lose of all but the most three valuable items you are carrying at the time. I groaned as a fatigue system was introduced to the game forcing you to carry a sleeping-bag with you where ever you went so you could regain stamina in order to do anything. I was in awe as they turned the 2d game into a 3d world that was constantly growing. I have caught my own fish, cooked my own feasts, slain dragons, crafted runes, fletched arrows, stolen from guards, and owned the armor of the god’s!
And today I log into the game, look around at the world that I have enjoyed for many years but mastered a while ago, and sigh. The world has changed drastically in my absence and so I scream to all that can hear me…
“I’m A FREAKING NOOB!”
and then promptly log out to return the comfort of the games I have come to understand. I am runescape’s epic noob… Continue reading “The long haul…epic noob” »

I decided to create a warrior on another server. My home server is full and I really have never played the warrior class. I’m making sure its a well balanced character. Leveling up its professions, including fishing and cooking, while I level so I don’t have to go back and do it. Not to mention the free food on a server I have…well had…almost no money is nice. (I have about 35 gold now just from selling greens I buy from the vendors and that drop in instances)
Anyway…none of that is the source of my awesomeness.
While questing along the shore in the Barrens my tauren came across a school of fish. While completely submerged in water he drew his massive mallet and pounded the school of fish into oblivion. One hit kill to a school of fish with a mallet. That’s epic. Continue reading “I am epic.” »
